Insane shootout footage. May 21, 2025, around 9:30 p.m., Peruvian National Police units from the Subunidad de Acciones Tácticas (SUAT) and the Dirección de Investigación Criminal (Dirincri) intercepted members of the criminal group Los Injertos del Centro on the Vía Expresa (Paseo de la República) in Lima, near the Metropolitano’s México station in the Lince/La Victoria area. The group, linked to vehicle theft, extortion, armed robbery, and the April 2025 killing of suboficial Ángel Belleza, was traveling in a stolen vehicle. When officers tried to stop them, the suspects rammed other cars and opened fire, triggering a sustained shootout that left the suspects’ vehicle with dozens of impacts and disrupted traffic. Alexander Jesús Alvarado Zeballos, 43, alias “Moñongo,” and Gian Carlos Huamán Cornejo, 36, alias “Cuarto de Pollo,” later died of their wounds; Eduardo Quiñones del Piélago, 36, alias “Kevin,” survived and was detained. Three officers were wounded, including Coronel Juan Carlos Montúfar, head of the robbery division, but no civilian deaths or injuries were reported. An October 1, 2026 post by journalist Omar Coca recirculated archive footage of the recorded operation.
